expanded polystyrene foam:

compuset hotwire contour cutter

expanding the use of eps foams

With the aid of the powerful Wintech Profiler software, the Compuset can be used to produce a variety of profiles that are limited only by your imagination. Using the software's DXF import facility, profiles in CAD files from architects and engineers can be quickly created in foam. For example:

  • Architectural shapes - cornices, special details
  • Custom packaging
  • Insulation & cladding

ease of use and versatility of setup

automated wire loading & positioning

Loading the hot-wires is as simple as just typing in the quantity and spacing required into the Wintech Profiler software. Up to ten different spacings can be loaded, making it possible to cut a range of different thickness sheets in a single pass.

Loading a maximum of 40 hot-wires takes less than 2 minutes.

single-wire profiling

For large shapes or low volume work, a single wire is loaded. The Wintech Profiler software makes it easy to design these.

multi-wire profiling

Most smaller profiles can be cut with multiple wires for higher productivity. The accuracy and speed of the Compuset gives very rapid setup.

single-pass profiling

Some profiles, where the top and bottom fit together, can be multi-wire cut in one pass, giving the ultimate foam yield and high-speed processing.

simple sheet-cutting

The very fast setup of the Compuset system is ideal for simple sheet-cutting or block trimming.

sheets cut to length

The multiple wires can be moved up and down, so that sheets and rectangular pieces can be cut to thickness and length

hotwire holder magazine

The Compuset is available in 20, 30 or 40 hot-wire versions. Each of the hot-wires is retained by a pair of hot-wire holders and stored in a magazine. The storage magazine allows for all of the hot-wires to be available for instant use when required no fitting or removal of unused hot-wires is required.

safety systems

The Compuset includes a comprehensive safety system to protect both the operator from potentially harmful voltages and the machine from any damage.

The safety circuit continually monitors the hotwire voltage system for leakage to earth and current overload. Instantaneous response to either of these conditions ensures troublefree operation. The system also includes test circuitry for periodic testing and peace of mind.

tilting cutting frame

The Compuset allows its cutting frame to be tilted for multiple wire sheet cutting. When cutting multiple sheets simultaneously, damage at the end of the block can occur as all of the wires exit and the block collapses. Tilting the cutting frame ensures that the wires leave at different times to give clean sheet ends.

The Compuset also includes automatic compensation for the tilt angle to ensure that accurate wire spacing is maintained. Optional pneumatic frame tilting is also available.

variety of machine sizes

Foam blocks come in a variety of sizes and customers require a variety of different profiles. To accommodate these varied needs and available floor spaces, the Compuset machine can be custom built to suit a variety of block widths, lengths or heights. new wintech console cabinet

All Wintech machines have a Console Cabinet, configured to incorporate several significant design improvements introduced to comply with recent amendments to Electro- Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and CE regulations. These improvements include:

  • Integrating the computer and screen into the cabinet, resulting in a more streamlined unit. Improvements to the Profiler software program now generate feedback from the machine to the LCD display screen, so operators can quickly access fault finding screens while stationed at the console.
  • Changing a number of components in the cabinet, to ensure strict compliance with international requirements. Many of these components are smaller which, in addition to freeing up space within the cabinet, are also less expensive. This cost saving is being passed on to the buyer.
  • Reducing the number of switches on the front panel of the cabinet, leaving only switches that are essential to the operation of the machine. Where appropriate, the other switches have been incorporated into the software or removed.
  • Providing under-table storage to give the operator increased storage capacity.

The result is a more ergonomic and enhanced unit, designed for superior operator comfort and improved machine performance.

Optional items that can be fitted to the new console cabinet include a remote handset (cordless) for easier and safer operation of the machine, and an air-conditioning unit for the cabinet to optimise its performance.
