expanded polystyrene foam:
hotwire contour cutter (manual)

Based on the very successful Compuset contour cutting machines, the manual hot-wire cutting machines is a simplified alternative that provides foam converters the flexibility to process foam in volume or small quantities. Both contour cutting and slitting can be carried out at lower costs.
The HW2000 series consists of a fixed cutting table with horizontal linear bearings mounted along the sides. A carriage carrying the two wire posts moves horizontally along the cutting table.
The wire posts are fitted with 10 hotwire cutting wires, which are manually loaded by the operator to the required height. Stepper motors, mounted beneath the table, control horizontal movement of the gantry and vertical movement of the hotwire holders.
